"LIVING THE WORD" SERIES
DISTANCE LEARNING / ITV “The Word: Alive and Well” has been honored with an international 2009 Bronze Telly Award for it’s episode “Helping Hands: The Prince of Peace Pilgrims”. This episode which has been recognized as an outstanding Religious Broadcast Production was produced in late 2007, telling the story of the “Prince of Peace Pilgrims”, a group sponsored and funded by the Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Chapel which traveled to New Orleans in Spring 2007 as part of Operation Helping Hands to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Consisting of twenty participants, the group, led by parishioner Richard Bing, stayed in the hurricane ravaged sections of New Orleans to rehab houses as part of a program managed by Catholic Charities.
