CCMCommunications was created in 1992 to fulfill the mandate - to preach the good news in a way which relates to the young adult, families, and people of all faiths and ages. We began by shooting in the basement of Wayne Hall, the William Paterson cafeteria. Moving to the Communication Department's facilities shortly thereafter, "The Word: Alive and Well" called Hobart Hall Studio 'A' its home. Better technology and widening horizons gave the opportunity to, in 2003, move to an owned and operated facility. This new location gave us a permanent facility

to better carry out that mission we set out to accomplish in 1992. Through digital technology, robotic camera systems, advanced playback and duplication systems, and hi-tech sharp looking graphics, CCMCommunications brings everyday bigger and better productions to our 'family' of viewers - to carry out what Christ teaches .... "Go and teach". This page links to different aspects of the CCMCommunications Production Facility. Clicking on each link will take you to a separate page where you can look at a series of pictures of each location. Of note is that each aspect of our facility has been designed and built by the CCMCommunications team - all in-housse - not contracted out.

CCMCommunications owns and operates a Control Room, which acts as the hub and nerve center of all productions originating out of the facility. It includes remote control of the robotic cameras in the chapel, as well as a Sony Production Switcher, Playback and Duplication Systems, Audio mixing, Graphics Systems, and an Adobe Off-Line Editing System.
In 2007, CCMCommunications built a permanent studio in the 'Atrium', a glass-enclosed room at the rear of the Catholic Campus Ministry Center. In what we call the Atrium Studio, we have the best of both worlds - the fabulous look of the changing seasons outside, and the warmth of a studio with permanent cameras and a lighting grid inside.

CCMCommunications is one of the few Diocesan agencies nationwide that owns a remote production vehicle. This mobile production unit consists of a trailer and an SUV, which can be loaded with equipment and crew to cover events off-site, such as at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Paterson or the Villa Walsh Motherhouse for the Religious Sisters Filippini in Morristown.

CCMCommunications also maintains other facilities necessary to operate a teleproduction unit - including a workshop and tape storage.
The Cathedral of St. John ins located in downtown Paterson, New Jersey, and is the Cathedral Seat of the Diocese of Paterson, our parent diocese. Through a grant provided by the Diocesan Communication Secretariat, CCMCommunications installed permanent video and audio cabling as well as electrics to make productions at the site quick and easy.

The home of "The Word: Alive and Well" from 2003 to 2007, the Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Chapel turned into a production studio each Thursday. By cameras, cables, audio, and lighting being set up and plugged in, the Chapel turns into a studio in a little over two hours. Though all productions have recently moved into the Atrium Studio as their permanent home, the Chapel set is still used for recording larger productions. Masses and Chapel events are also recorded here through robotic cameras permanently installed.
