BE A PART OF MAKING "THE WORD: ALIVE AND WELL" We are a close-knit crew - a family. We come from all walks of life - student, communications professional, religious and priest, layperson, fire marshal, machinist, high school student - and we all get together to have a good time and produce quality television. We pool together the time and talents from students and chapel parishoners alike - and we form one of the most professional television production crews around. Many of us came with little or no experience in television production. Some of us came as students in broadcasting who wanted to practice what we learned in the classroom. Either way, being a crew member on 'the Word" is a rare opportunity - an opportunity to produce a live-to-tape show that reaches a national audience, but is recorded in a production environment that is apt to teaching and learning.

You don't have to be an expert in broadcasting - you don't even have to be Catholic. All you have to do is be willing to donate a few hours of your time each week to work and have a good time. All training is on-the-job, and you have an opportunity to learn what you want. You can work solely as a camera operator, or, if you are willing to train, you can work any of the other positions on the crew - Audio Operator, Jib Operator, Technical Director, Playback, Chyron Operator - the sky is the limit. You work in a state of the art CCMCommunications Television Operations Center facility - one that rivals what is used in the broadcasting industry. And it doesn't stop there - you can work in editing, PR, do mailings, tapes, and duplication, and much more.

IF YOU ARE A COMMUNICATION MAJOR OR INTERESTED IN BROADCASTING... You get a chance to: - Learn in a fully digital facility anything you want - Work on a show that reached 9 million homes across the country - Get great resume or reel material - Become an intern and earn college credit  (WPU students only) - Work with a profession crew with people who do this as a career - Learn various facets of production - including remote shoots with our RTOC mobile production unit - Network for job placement

IF YOU ARE A CATHOLIC... You have an opportunity to: - Live your faith - Take part in the service and outreach initiatives of the Church by volunteering time and talent - Be part of evangelize the Gospels - Learn about being Catholic from many of the guests who are on the show - you learn a lot about the history of Catholicism, Catholic dogma,. and Church teachings - Be part of church events - through videotaping masses and covering big events, such as the Ordination remote

WHAT YOU CAN GET INVOLVED IN WITH CCMCOMMUNICATIONS - Crew, "The Word: Alive and Well" - Crew, "Liturgy of the Word" weekly mass tapings - Crew, Remote Productions with the remote production unit - Public Relations, either by yourself or with a committee - Broadcasting Administration; getting new networks and managing the ones we have - Monthly Mailings
